    THE BEGINNING

    The idea of the NONOMO® Swinging Hammock originated during sleepless nights, in which the founding family was kept awake by their newborn because he simply did not want to sleep. Only through calming up-and-down movements could they calm the little one, and they recognized the useful properties of a springy baby hammock. The product's origin and the materials used played an important role.

    NONOMO® SWINGING HAMMOCK

    It soon turned out, that quality and production methods did not always match the founders' principles, so it was decided to establish their own production of the hammock.The NONOMO® brand was born in summer 2010. What began as a living room production, quickly developed into a popular, recommended and trustworthy brand of swinging hammocks.

    ORGANIC COTTON

    The textile industry's share of environmental pollution and climate impact is enormous. That is why we focus on sustainable materials. For our fabrics we use only cotton from controlled organic cultivation (organic cotton). Water consumption in cultivation is significantly lower than conventional crops here. Chemical pesticides and genetic engineering are prohibited.

    PLASTICS? CIAO!

    Packaging protects our products during transport and thus keeps them hygienic - we cannot ship anything without it.

    What we can try to do is to minimize the impact of packaging on our environment. The plastic bags used at NONOMO® so far will be gradually replaced by recyclable cardboard boxes. For less plastic waste and environmental impact.

     

    NOTHING GETS LOST HERE!

    One problem of online retailing with a massive environmental impact is the high volume of returns. With rental products and test packages, we want to make it easier for our customers to find the right product right from the start. If returns do occur, NONOMO® does not destroy them, but refurbishes them and offers them as second choice items at a reduced price.

    For us, it’s essential that our products are sustainable and free of toxins. Textiles who have direct skin contact should basically pose no danger. The standard 100 label of OEKO-Texâ certifies that our products are completely free of harmful materials, which means all the threads, buttons, and other accessories are harmless to health.

    NONOMO is also certified with the GOTS label. The Global Organic Textile Standard is the world's leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, enhanced by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. GOTS certified end products can include fiber products, yarns, fabrics, apparel, home textiles, mattresses, and more.

    SUSTAINABILITY IN EVERYDAY LIFE

    Much is already done purely digitally at NONOMO®, but unfortunately, we cannot do completely without printed paper. For legal reasons alone, our products must be accompanied by manuals with safety instructions. In order to compensate for the resulting ecological footprint as best as possible, we use recycled paper (Blue Angel, FSC) and climate-neutral print production in most cases. The certified provider ClimatePartner reliably offsets the CO2 emissions generated during printing.

    NATURALNESS

    We place particular value on natural and ecological materials in the production of the NONOMO® Swinging Hammock, which is why it is made of 100% untreated organic cotton. In addition to the synthetic fiber variant, there is a NONOMO® mattress made of pure sheep's wool. This has self-cleaning properties. The natural lanolin contained in the sheep's wool absorbs hardly any bacteria and also has a healing and anti-inflammatory effect. With the plant fiber Kapok, there is also a natural and vegan mattress available.

    FAIRNESS

    Fair, honest, and transparent. This is our claim to quality, function, and appearance. We already meet this requirement in our manufacturer selection. Of course, it goes without saying that when choosing a manufacturing site, we ensure that child labor is rejected and that the workers are employed in compliance with all national and international regulations!
